(Daily Mi: 15.1) Tragedy! Started off as a great day. Needed to get Linden by noon to pick up my maildrop. Left at 6:30 and made it 8.5 miles into town by 9:30 am. Felt great, even giddy. Scored my drop box, was cutting it open ... I won't describe the wound, but one ambulance ride and 4 stitches later I am in a motel room in Front Royal, Va w/ a big bandage around my upper left thigh. Doc wants me to take at least 24 hours off. Good news is I'll be able to hike (tho I'll have to take it a little easy for the next few days). I must have been quite a sight this AM: a week with no shower or clean clothing, all my belongings in a sack bleeding out in front of a rural post office. Thank God for my education.
