(Daily Mi: 15.8) Wetest sustained day on the Trail so far.
Dressed head to toe in rain gear, including pants and cinched hood, for about 90% of the day.
Fingers were so wet I couldn't roll a cigarette even when I managed to get out of the rain.
Crossed my first southern bald. Biting wind and horizontal rain. 10 yards visibility. Passed a local hiker who assured me the view was spectacular on a good day. Possibly.
Water pooled in the spring at the shelter may or may not have been rainwater, but it certainly was an unusual color. Even after treating it, Brother and I looked at each other a couple of times before drinking it. <br />
