(Daily Mi: 22.0) Heck of hike today. Made a quick 1100 foot run up Pleasant Pond Mtn (2470 ft) first thing. Nice views from Moxie Bald Mtn (2629 ft) and a few blueberries to boot.

Pretty darn hot (90+ degrees), even up on the ridges.

Didn't stop for long anywhere today, and we were both pretty wrecked on the last leg to the shelter. It will be a short day into Monson tomorrow (will probably regret that belief in the morning)

The water is a long ways off down hill and I am lucky because it is Crusader's turn to make a run with the water bags. We have our system frightenly down pat. His bag leaks so we filter it straight into our bottles and dromedaries. My bag is water tight so we treat its contents and save it for morning.
